Amulet of Samarkand

I finished reading The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud yesterday. It is the first book in the Bartimaeus trilogy. Although it was an interesting book, it was definitely a kid's book. The writing style was simple. The storyline was suspenseful, though not extremely so. Overall I'd have to say that it was a decent book. I don't regret reading it, but I did not enjoy it as much as other books I have read. I will, however, probably read the other 2 books in the series.
