5th Horseman by James Patterson
I think this was one of the best books that I've read by Patterson. It is definitely a suspenseful page turning thriller. The ending is unexpected and the book contains many other twists and turns. There is a "side" murder investigation which only has a small part in the novel and has not correlation to the main murder.
Plum Lovin' by Janet Evanovich
This is a "between the numbers novel". Although Stephanie Plum is still the main character in this novel, most of the other key characters don't have a very large role.
Diesel, an "Unmentionable" with unknown powers shows up in Stephanie's place. He needs help with another Unmentionable, Annie Hart. Annie, who also failed to show up for her court date after Vinnie bonded her out, is on the list of people Stephanie must find. Annie is a "relationship expert" who is trying to find true love for other people before Valentine's day.
Having read the other Stephanie Plum novels, I foud this book disappointing. That being said, this book is still very funny. It was not as funny as the "numbered" books, but it did have laugh out loud moments. It's also shorter and therefore faster to read.
