Rainbow Classic Yarn

This is the Jo Ann brand yarn. There are 11 ounces in each skein, but it costs $8.99 normally. It comes packaged in a plastic bag. The skein in this picture contains pastels. The other skeins have either olive green or shades of purple. The yarn is quite thick. Looking at the side of the skein to see the inside of the skein, it looks like wisps of cotton.

Scarp Yarn

I was looking for some Sunflower colored yarn, which is a golden/yellow color. In the process, I found a bunch of scarp yarn. I really want to make a scrap afghan because I have about one ounce of yarn, sometimes more for each color. I found 2 partial skeins of leftover Homespun yarn. I hope to make 2 scarves from these leftovers. I've already completed one scarf and have started making a scarf from the other skein. I didn't really look at the bag of scrap yarn to see what I want to keep and what to give away yet. Hopefully I will get to that soon.

Camo Yarn

I've seen the "new" camoflage yarn at Michaels for a while now, but never had an excuse to buy it. Today I had a 40% off coupon and wanted to buy varigated yarn for a scarf, so I bought a skein. I hope it comes out nicely.

Using Up Yarn

I'm definitely using up a lot of yarn to make stuff this year. Although I'm not doing too well on my yarn diet, I haven't bought anymore yarn for about 2 weeks, and I've definitely made a dent in my yarn stash. Unfortunately I've been making a lot of scarves, which are quick to make, but don't use up a lot of yarn. Therefore, though I've made a lot of items, my yarn stash doesn't look that much smaller.

Fancy Fur

Michaels' has a sale on Fancy Fur. The yarn is originally priced at 5.99 and is on sale for $1. This means that it is 83 1/3% off. Sounds like a great sale, right? I went to Michaels today (the sale started Sunday) and there was absolutely no Fancy Fur left. Fancy Fur is Fun Fur with a strand of another type of yarn going through it. I don't remember what the other strand looks like or what it is made of. I really don't think that Fancy Fur is THAT popular that it would be entirely sold out. Admittedly, it was an extremely good deal. I'm just sad that I wasn't able to get any yarn. I thought about going to Michaels on Sunday, the first day of the sale but I did not want to go to Michaels two times in one week (since I'd probably buy double the amount of yarn). Had I known that Michaels would be out of Fancy Fur yarn, I would definitely have gone on Sunday to purchase some. I guess it's better that they did run out of yarn. This helps me with my "yarn diet".
