Harry Potter Scarf 2 Part 2

I finished crocheting the second Harry Potter scarf. The scarf is not complete since the loose ends need to be weaved in.

Leftover Yarn from Two Harry Potter Scarves

Here is the amount of yarn leftover from creating two Harry Potter scarves. Only one skein of Sunflower was used in creating both scarves, and most of the Sunflower is still leftover. Of the two skeins of burgundy yarn that were used in creating the scarves, this is the amount of burgundy yarn lert.

Harry Potter Scarf 2 Part 1

I started working on a second Harry Potter scarf. I used the rest of the burgundy and sunflower yarn that was leftover from the first Harry Potter scarf. In this picture, I used up all the burgundy yarn that was leftover from the first Harry Potter scarf. There is still plenty of sunflower left.

1st to Die by James Patterson

This is the first book in the "Women's Murder Club" series. Inspector Lindsey Boxer, San Francisco Chronicle writer Cindy Thomas, Assisstant DA Jill, and Medical Examiner Claire are all part of the club. They meet periodically to discuss the case and enjoy alcoholic beverages.

This book is quite graphic. Although it is a page turner/action thriller, the victims are brides and grooms who have just gotten married, thus making the book very sad. The ending leaves the question as to who was the actual killer responsible for the murders.

Although I wouldn't call this book magnificent, it is filled with suspense and many twists and turns.

Finished Waterfall Scarf

Here is a picture of the completed scarf made from Waterfall colored Red Heart yarn

Waterfall Scarf

I started crocheting a scarf using a varigated Red Heart yarn. This yarn is called "Waterfall". It contains beige, olive green, light blue and purple.

This is another view of the Harry Potter scarf, in order to show the length of the scarf.

Harry Potter Scarf 1 Part 3

I finally finished crocheting the Harry Potter Gryffindor scarf. It is 6 inches wide and about 70 inches long. There are 10 rows of burgundy followed by a row of sunflower, 2 rows of burgundy and one row of sunflower. There are 10 "sets" of 10 rows of burgundy. Worsted weight yarn and a J hook were used to make this item. With every color change, I left about 2 inches of yarn that I later weaved in to the scarf.

Leftover Yarn from Harry Potter Scarf

I bought 7 oz of Burgundy and 7 oz of Sunflower colored yarn in order to make the Harry Potter scarf. Here is the amount of yarn that is leftover after completing one scarf.

Lifeguard by James Patterson

Nick is a lifeguard at a resort in Florida. He joins four friends in a heist that is "the Perfect Score". All they have to do is steal three pictures from a rich man. Someone else will sell it for them and they will receiver 5 million dollars. It seems like the perfect setup. Unfortunately something goes wrong. All four of Nick's friends are killed. Nick's only option is to work with an FBI agent whom he first kidnaps to try to get to the bottom of who set up him and his friends.

Cha Cha Scarf 3

I knitted another Cha Cha scarf. This one contains red, pink and purple.

Multicolor Blocks

The blocks in the heart blanket have to have the correct orientation, depending on what part of the heart I am working on. It took me a few tries to get the orientation right.

M & H Hooks

In order to make the octopus legs, I used both M and H hooks. The pattern only called for an H hook, but I found it easier to use an M hook for the chain stitches. The M hook is on the left and is clearly a lot larger than the H hook.

Berella "4" Yarn

Included in the kit is a knitting worsted weight yarn called "Berella '4'". The color is "pale tapestry gold". The yarn is 100% Acrylic. I've never used this yarn before. It is very similar to other worsted weight yarn such as Caron Perfect Match or Red Heart Super Saver, except that this yarn is slightly softer.
